ABOUT

Teresa Hayward is a poet, singer, songwriter, performer, voice teacher, and arts manager from Western Massachusetts. She lived and performed in Hartford, Connecticut during college, and then in Louisville, Kentucky for five years before coming back to Massachusetts.

Music has been ever-present throughout Teresa's life, growing up listening to rock, folk, and pop classics, American songbook standards, and then falling in love with jazz, classical, and indie rock music. She has been singing and performing for most of her life, whether that be as a soloist or bandleader in various jazz ensembles, quartets, trios, and big bands, lead vocalist in her band Hayward & Kagan Duo (formerly Quietside), back-up singer in the Hartford-based indie-pop/rock band, Art School Girls, choir member and studio musician. She takes joy in singing and teaching various genres and styles of music, including jazz, blues, pop, rock, indie, folk, musical theater and classical. Teresa holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Management and Jazz Voice from The Hartt School of the University of Hartford.

Teresa is currently writing original music, with plans to record an EP, and is working on self-publishing a book of her original poetry.
